Study “Observance of the civil rights of transgender people” (2012)
This publication is a non-representative quantitative study on the observance of transgender people’s rights, particularly in the area of medical care and services.
Contents of the study:
I. Transgender people’s exercise of their right to access medical care and services.
1.1 Seeing doctors about matters unrelated to transgender status.
1.2 Seeing doctors about matters related to sex change (correction).
1.3 Transgender people’s attitudes toward violations of their rights in access to medical care and services.
II. Transgender people’s exercise of other civil rights, particularly to education and work.
2.1 An analysis of respondents’ experiences of exercising their rights to work and education.
2.2 Manifestations of discrimination against transgender people in employment and education.
2.3 How transgender people defend their rights at work and in education.
2.4 Transgender people’s attitudes toward violations of their other civil rights.
III. Risk factors for HIV and STI infection (knowledge and behavioral practices) among transgender people in Ukraine.
3.1 Awareness of HIV/AIDS. Knowledge of HIV/AIDS transmission routes and prevention.
3.2 The practice of confidential HIV testing and STI screening.
3.3 Risky behavioral practices among transgender people.
